Chronology
Following the events of Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, aka The Penguin, makes a play to seize control of Gotham’s criminal underworld. Aside from a Bat-signal in the final shot of the season finale, we never got our Robert Pattinson cameo in «The Penguin.» In this short video, IMDb attempts to answer: Where the hell was Batman? For his own series, however, the character is depicted as a casual tobacco user, with a preference for cigars.

But after episode 1, I will say that this show is amazing (so far)
I thought Colin Farrell was great as the Penguin in Batman, but I never understood the casting of a skinny good-looking actor and putting him in a massive prosthetic and a thick suit… especially when I think he looks like some other famous actors who would have been just as good. I also really didn’t get why this spinoff was coming, and honestly, I’m just tired of the Batman reboot.
But I didn’t expect to like it this much
I only watched it knowing that it was necessary to watch as a bridge between the first and second movies and my surprise at Farrell in his role in the first. The acting is great, the script is superb, and it surprised me with some quick twists. The biggest thing I liked was the fact that there was a lot more color in this than in Batman.
I hope this continues to be as good as it is now, because I really can’t wait until the next episode
